Looking for female politician speeches and their possible transcripts. Unfortunately have looked out on full transcripts but found a website with key speeches for me to listen to. YESSS! 

I have 9 exams this January, I want to actually kill myself tbh. 

And also, my English teacher isn’t making it any easier, and I basically told him to fuck off via email. Would bore you with a list of reasons why he is an actual door-knob but will spare your kind souls. For now anyway, hahaha. 

So whilst I go have multiple mental breakdowns (total number so far; 3) I hope you are all lovely.

Just finished two pieces of English coursework

Under the 2500 word limit by 2! I deserve all the awards.

First pieces is a newspaper article entitled “Teenage role model or a feminist’s nightmare?” and is about the representation of women (Bella) in Twilight. I’m not necessarily against Twilight, I actually quite like it, but it’s easy to write as we’re doing it in Media already.

The second piece is a mock speech interview with Guitarist online and John Mayer. It’s from last year but tweaked as it got quite good comments. I quite like it, and was told it’s very realistic~ (maybe because I may have used some real quotes and then re-wrote them, hahaha).

Now I just have to write two commentaries about the sort of word class I’ve used, etc. Painful.

Moved onto the music sector in media today

We had to tally what we had spent on CDs, merch and gigs in the last year. Everyone was like £20 on merch and I’ve spent about £350! Hahah! And gigs I had the highest with about £400! I slightly skewed the results! I blame the whole merch thing on John Mayer, it’s his fault! He forces me to buy his beautiful merch, honestly!

In other news I just finished an English essay and I had no idea, realised I’ve written it wrong and have had to write an email to the teacher saying I hadnt a clue! Kind of gave up halfway through, terrible when that happens.

1st day back at college

Started back at college today and as it’s A2 had to switch classes, but thankfully I have classes with people that are normal (this mostly being in reference to my media class, as some of the people I had used to make cat noises all the time). 

Bob Dylan tickets arrived today! I don’t think I stated on here that I’m going to see BD with my Grandad for his birthday, he doesn’t know yet. 

This post was really an excuse to say that because it’s nearly 1am (even though I started today, I have tomorrow off) I can make excuses for my grammar on the last tag, when I’m tired I revert to my common english speaking voice. 

College is just screwing with me now

I believe this is what you call the worst timetable for college ever. This is just PAINFUL. I don’t understand why we’re getting a break, we’re not 12.

one of my days I have 10-1 free and another is 12-2. this is just upsetting. The only good thing is that I’m in Politics with a friend. I seriously need to learn to drive as fast as anything.

Got my AS level results

I have to re-take two exams, one to get 5 more points and another to get 8 points. Fucking fuck fuck. 

And I have to enroll today this is full on balls

I got A’s in business and Media and B’s in Eng Lang, Politics and Gen Studies. ifvugow]egfiouegde]oquwgbdfuqw;lgwq Politics was 5 more points to get an A. u2fgeuoiqdv

Finally starting on my summer homework

As some of you may have noticed from asks or Twitter I am starting my English Language investigation, and it’s going painfully, haha. It’s taken me until now to figure out what my actual question is;

“How does the technology used affect language and length within a text?”

 An investigation as to whether the technology used to text the most important factor to consider when analysing the language and length of one, or are the situational factors involved affecting the two more? 

You can tell I’m getting into it though, I’m going to make a table! 

I realised I should start this now because I want to be able to start reading my books without feeling guilty for not doing my homework, haha.

I get my results for AS exams tomorrow at 6am online, so I’ll probably make a post or something, unless they’re absolutely horrendous, cause then I’ll just crawl up in a ball and cry my eyes out forever. Good luck to anyone getting them tomorrow!

This girl at college said to me today “Why the hell would you read books? They’re pointless and boring”

Er, no. Not at all. I don’t understand it when people say “I don’t like reading”, HOW? Reading is magical. Books can make you feel a part of its story, and they explain the things that as a person, we can’t explain ourselves. Words and stories become immortalised. the proof of a good book is one that makes me feel like I’m IN the story. I feel what the characters feel. It’s perfect. Everything comes from books. Books are the most amazing thing in this world.

I HAVE AN ATTACHMENT TO BOOKS OKAY?

The next few weeks are just going to be me going on trips

Today is a college trip to Manchester university! I’ve only been to manc once to see take that, so hopefully it’ll be great. I have Liverpool and Sheffield uni fair to go to and I have to visit a business in my business class.

Also! I may be going on a trip to Washington! With politics, so he’s gonna try and arrange trips to places (hw said we could go to the pentagon, depending on circumstances). I’ve only ever been to Spain, so this will be awesome. Hopefully JM will be touring by then and he’s in Washington the same time I am!

Just got a text from a friend saying “Are you going to college tomorrow?”

I was like WTF WE HAVE COLLEGE TOMORROW I AM SO NOT READY FUCK

I had to check when the new term started and it said Tuesday! SO thankful! Thought i’d gotten the wrong date and was like ahh. 

So yes, tomorrow is my last day of freedom until July 6th. Between now and then I have to start year 2 work, go to one university fair, two university trips, an options after 18 evening and give blood. Yep. That’s it really. I also have to sleep. 

I know I’ll say this and nothing will change

But I’m gonna really try and avoid tumblr as my exams are about to start and I have loads of revising/mocks to do. My first exam is in two and half weeks, it’s terrible. I am seriously buggered. Unprepared and overwhelmed right now.

In a very nerdy way, I do love a bit of feminism

I think I’d be quite a good feminism if I had any fight. Im not saying I can’t fight, but I think something such as feminism and politics really needs a strong person who’s keyed up on facts and will fight whatever, and I’m not sure I’m like that, haha. But yes, I’m very interested in feminism! And aspects of language actually.
